Dolphin's Point is a good place to watch dolphins playing in the sea early in the morning. The beach, 2 km from Calicut town centre, is a long stretch of tree lined sand, popular with the local people because of the Lions Club park, the Light House and the two piers - and, of course, the opportunity to enjoy in the evening breeze.

Mananchira Square is an architectural delight named after the man-made lake Mananchira around which it is situated in the centre of the city. It is named after Manadevan Samoothiri, the erstwhile ruler of the Kozhikode Kingdom, known as Mana-vedan Chira (pond) and later transformed to Mana-an-Chira.
